Excuse (Half Baked)

Excuse (Half Baked)
From my collection of Humour and Nonsense "Half Baked"
I leapt from the tooth of a Tiger
Into the mouth of a Great White
And there, I slept, all night
Until the early dawn did break
Stretching upon my mattress tongue
I rose upon an Albatross into blue skies
Passing on route through clouds of butterflies
That tickled my nose making me sneeze
And as I sneezed I slipped and fell
And slid right down a Giraffe’s neck
And wondered to myself, what the heck
Am I doing here upon it’s back
And so I climbed down to the ground
But fell inconveniently into an open hole
Left by an ant, God bless it’s soul
My fall was broken by piles of socks
Piles of socks? I admit I wondered!
But in my rush to move right on, I hurried off
The cold dark tunnel had induced a cough
No time to wait for I’ll be late
And so you see, my reason Sir
It’s why, and to be honest upon this date
I have to admit, my reason, for being late
Please forgive, it’s just this once.

Re: Excuse (Half Baked)
So glad you liked it. When I was at school (back in the dark ages) a teacher once commented about my excuses and my imagination, so I have tried to put both to good use!
