Lissa (Personal Collection)
From my personal collection of poems inspired by my family.
When my now-grown-up daughter was born, we named her Lissa. When she was old enough for school, she became quite cross when people spelled her name with just one 's' as in Lisa. I wrote this poem in memory of those glorious days.
There are two s's in my name
I've told you all before
One is insufficient
It's becoming quite a bore
There are two s's in my name
I'm cross as I can be
One's a different person
Two is really me
So if you cannot get it right
Please don't communicate
By letter or by email
It's something that I hate!

Re: Lissa (Personal Collection)
This is so sweet memories how child could act and a great tribute to her from his father-poet. I like its simplicity and nice rhyme. Your daughter must be proud of you. Bravo!

Re: Lissa (Personal Collection)
Thank you Sonja, it is one thing that we partly share as many people spell my name with two L's as in Phillip whereas mine is Philip. Perhaps it's age but I don't really mind which version is used.
I wrote a number of poems about my daughter and perhaps I will post some more.
