Ripe fruit - prepared for my new book of poetry

Ripe fruit

Can you recall our childhood?
Do you remember quince jelly and mulberry taste,
Scents from the acacia tree and sitting down in its shade?...
You and I separated only with the thin fence of memories.

I was jumping the cord
and you were trying to impress me
just because you saw a nice butterfly.
I was dancing on my toes
and you were trying to whistle like a bird
and to bark like a dog.

We were both stealing fruits,
green apples and sweet dark cherries.

In my old shoes I was trying to walk like a movie star
while you were secretly going to the cinema.
I was playing accordion and singing,
you, just playing, to hide your teenage voice change.
I was dancing at my school,
you were looking at some other girls...

Can you recall our childhood?

We are here, again, you and I
connected with a new string,
you call me your love, your lady,
I call you my love, my lord,
now, we are walking the same lane.
Like two lost pages from the same book.

Writing is a part of my life, even then when life is not so nice, but to share my poetry with other poets and friends is the special joy of mine.

Brilliantly written! All I can say is the kids of today, just wouldn't understand these memories, saying they were from way back when, it's sad in a way, because they will never know, what we have, especially before September 11th, when the whole world changed! Superb!
